1. What is set today
The essential ones sign you in, open your classroom, or remember your answer below. We set all of them ourselves, and no other company can read them. No advertising, and nothing that follows you to another website.
The last row, analytics, is different: it is only set if you allow it, and the data it collects goes to Google. Section 2 is where you choose.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Keeps you signed in. Holds a reference to your account and a date it stops working — no name, no email, no grade. | 14 days |
| Signing in through your classroom | Protects the sign-in while it happens, so the one that comes back is the one you started. | A few minutes |
| Opening your classroom | Remembers which course you asked to open while we sign you in to your classroom, so you land on that course. | A few minutes |
| Your choice | Remembers your answer below. Without it you would be asked on every page. | 1 year |
| Analytics (optional) | Google Analytics 4. A random identifier, so Google Analytics can count pages read and where visitors came from without knowing who you are. Off unless you allow it. | Up to 2 years |
2. Your choice
Checking your current setting…
3. Clearing them yourself
You can delete these in your browser any time. That signs you out and brings the notice back. Nothing else happens — we do not try to recognize you afterwards.
To block Google Analytics on every website, not just this one, Google offers a browser add-on.
Most of what we hold is in our database, not your browser. That is in the privacy notice.
